Bringing Valuable Resources to Support Aging in Community

For senior homeowners in northwest Baltimore, addressing home repairs and modifications on a limited income can be a challenge. CHAI’s Senior Home Repair and Benefits program helps older adults remain in their homes by providing trusted modifications and repairs at no or low cost. When larger needs arise, CHAI can tap into other sources of funding to help meet the cost. One client called CHAI because her furnace was not working, and she was having electrical issues exacerbated by the use of a space heater. It would cost thousands to replace her furnace and install a new electrical panel. Fortunately, CHAI was able to access funds through the HUBS (Housing Upgrades to Benefit Seniors) program, which provides funding for home repairs and safety modifications to low-income residents of Baltimore City who are 65 and older. If you know of a senior homeowner in northwest Baltimore City who may be interested in this program, please contact CHAI’s Intake Specialist at 410-500-5433.
