Baltimore City Announces Funding to Support HUBS
CHAI was honored to attend Mayor Brandon Scott’s press conference at Civic Works’ Clifton Mansion as he announced the City’s support of the HUBS (Housing Upgrades to Benefit Seniors) program. CHAI has participated in the HUBS program partnership with Sinai Hospital since the program’s inception in 2015. The Mayor announced City funding of $3.5 million to support the initiative and spoke powerfully of the program as an effective public-private partnership that helps older adults on fixed incomes to safely and independently age in place in their communities. HUBS allows seniors to maintain their beloved homes over time and pass them down as assets to children and grandchildren. The Weinberg and Stulman Foundations and Keswick Community Health were present as well to announce funding support for the program, for a combined total of $9.6 million.
