Weinberg House Residents Enjoy Results of a Transformational Investment
After renovations at Weinberg House were completed last month, residents are back in their apartments and enjoying refreshed spaces throughout the building. When asked what they like most about the renovations, many had a hard time choosing. One resident pointed to “the beautiful lounge on the second floor,” while another shared, “The new kitchen is my favorite. Having a new stove, refrigerator, sink, cabinets, and everything else makes such a difference. But then you walk into the bathroom, and everything is new there too!” Beyond the physical improvements, residents say the renovations have made daily life easier and strengthened their pride in the community. As one resident put it, “Having the building renovated shows me that the people responsible for this community really care.” The renovation of Weinberg House is part of CHAI’s 15-year Preservation Project, an effort to revitalize 15 affordable senior housing properties and preserve them for decades to come. We are grateful to announce a $5 million grant from The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, payable over five years, to support this work to help ensure older adults can continue to live safely and affordably in the community.
