The Myerberg Shines on WMAR

On Friday, October 22, WMAR News featured a segment on how The Edward A. Myerberg Center is helping seniors in the digital age through its innovative Virtual Center. The story showcased Myerberg member, Harriet Udell, describing how the Myerberg’s live programming helps her connect to others from the comfort and safety of her home. In March, the Myerberg pivoted from a physical hub into a sprawling virtual center, offering over 50 live programs each week to keep older adults active, engaged and connected. Center Director, Niki Barr explains, “We discovered that the majority of our older adults do have technology at home, they just needed to learn how to use it.” Over 700 participants join the Myerberg’s programs each week, including users from all over the country and as far away as Scotland and Israel.
