Park Heights Voices Taking Shape Through Art

May 14, 2026

On April 28, the Myerberg Center welcomed nearly 30 community members for an art workshop presented in partnership with Park West Health System (PWHS) and led by Baltimore-based, nationally acclaimed artist Jay Wolf Schlossberg-Cohen. The group reflected a true cross-section of Park Heights, including many longtime residents, some of whom were visiting the Center for the first time, all coming together to share their experiences in a new and creative way. Representing PWHS, Patrice Wallace explained that the work created that afternoon would help shape a future art installation at Park West’s new Belvedere Avenue location. Guided by prompts such as painting a favorite memory of Park Heights, participants created deeply personal pieces that captured their feelings about community, history, and belonging, with many also reminiscing aloud throughout the session. Together, these contributions formed a visual record of Park Heights through the eyes of its residents, reflecting the stories, spirit and lived experiences of the community.
