NNC Sukkot Gathering Highlights the Spirit of Togetherness
On a sunny October afternoon during Sukkot (a week-long Jewish holiday celebrating the fall harvest), CHAI’s Northwest Neighbors Connecting (NNC) hosted a memorable gathering in an NNC member’s sukkah—a temporary hut built for the holiday. Representatives from Mayor Scott’s office joined the community in enjoying refreshments and connection. Rabbi Elchonon Chaikin of Jewish Senior Network shared insights on the significance of the sukkah and the spirit of unity that the holiday of Sukkot embodies. Attendees left eager to participate in a sukkah gathering again next year.
