Maryland Invests in the Revitalization of Northwest Baltimore

January 8, 2026

The Northwest Baltimore Partnership (NWBP) is a City-County coalition working from Park Circle to Pikesville to advance coordinated community development in northwest Baltimore. Since its founding in 2018, NWBP (through CHAI as the operating partner) has secured more than $8 million from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development’s Baltimore Regional Neighborhood Initiative (BRNI). As part of $26.7 million invested in Central Maryland for FY2026, NWBP was awarded funding to support impactful investments across northwest Baltimore, including Spruce Up grants that fuel community-driven beautification and placemaking; the creation of a workforce development makerspace as part of the broader transformation of the historic 14-acre Pikesville Armory (pictured); and a partnership with Sinai Hospital to deliver essential home repairs and accessibility modifications to older adults through the Housing Upgrades to Benefit Seniors (HUBS) program. Together, these investments reflect the power of collaboration and community leadership in strengthening vibrant, resilient neighborhoods across northwest Baltimore.
