Highlighting Housing in Annapolis

April 3, 2025

As the General Assembly winds down its 2025 session, CHAI is grateful to our state legislators, the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development and the Governor’s Office for advancing legislation that supports housing opportunity. CHAI’s CEO, Lisa Budlow, testified in favor of two bills put forth by the 41st District team, one that aimed to study the need for state support to older condo owners who are facing special assessments to fund reserves, and one that highlighted the important role of housing counseling services in connecting residents to opportunities to purchase and maintain their homes. Additionally, it was a great honor for Lisa to testify in support of Governor Moore’s priority housing bill, which would facilitate housing production in regions that lack sufficient units. We are grateful to the Governor for his continued focus on housing as a foundational element in strengthening communities.
