Fallstaff Rebuilds with Help from Community
CHAI has been working closely with The City of Baltimore, Councilman Isaac “Yitzy” Schleifer’s office and community partners including CASA de Maryland, Empowerment Temple and Trauma Advocacy Group to support residents affected by the August 2020 Labyrinth Road gas explosion. CHAI continues to connect community members to funds generously raised by The Associated to support this relief effort. CHAI has distributed over $30,000 to date in financial assistance to help with moving costs, security deposits and essential items like food, furniture and clothing. In addition to providing monetary aid, CHAI has been advocating on behalf of affected community members with insurance companies, connecting residents to mental health services, and helping them to rebuild their homes and lives.
