Fallstaff Neighbors Create Connection Through Spanish Language Series

Earlier this month, the first graduating class of CHAI’s Fallstaff Community Spanish Language Series completed a six-week conversational Spanish Language Series, led by Raquel Martin from Arriba Spanish in Towson. CHAI developed the program in response to the community’s interest in being able to better communicate with their Spanish-speaking neighbors. Attendees included teachers from Fallstaff Elementary/Middle School, Fallstaff residents, and community partners. We have already heard from participants that they are using their new language skills to get to know their neighbors. And there is excitement among the group about the potential for this program to help build more diverse engagement in the neighborhood and school community. CHAI is grateful for the support of a Pimlico Local Aid Impact grant that made this Spanish language series possible. A second session is being planned for spring 2025.
