Deepening Resident Engagement at CHAI’s Housing Communities

January 8, 2026

CHAI has launched a new pilot initiative to deepen resident engagement at Weinberg Villages and Weinberg Manors, guided by the belief that the strongest communities are shaped by the people who live in them. Inbal (Innie) Neun, former Center Director of the Edward A. Myerberg Center, is taking her talent for engaging older adults to spearhead this work. By building relationships with residents and nurturing a shared sense of belonging and responsibility, this pilot program will create warm and inclusive communities where residents feel connected to one another and inspired to shape where they live—and that vision is already coming to life! Resident planning committees are forming, programs are expanding, and neighbors are connecting in new ways across both campuses. In collaboration with residents at Weinberg Villages, the Iris Music Project will launch a new program, United Voices, in January. United Voices will offer older adults experiencing memory or cognitive challenges the opportunity to sing alongside friends, family, and caregivers. This is just one of the many programs underway that are providing new opportunities for residents to deepen their involvement and take a more active role in shaping life in their communities.
