Community-led Project Enhances NW Baltimore and Beyond
This spring, with the support of Northwest Baltimore Partnership’s (NWBP) Spruce-up Program funded through a Baltimore Regional Neighborhood Initiative grant, Cylburn Arboretum Friends (CAF) acquired six picnic tables for the Cylburn Arboretum. The Green Cadets, a local youth training group, came together on a beautiful day in May to assemble the tables just in time for the advent of spring school field trips. Cylburn plans to host 24 field trips, of which 22 are from Baltimore City Public Schools. CAF is thrilled about the prospect of students and other visitors being able to enjoy the new tables on the grounds of the arboretum. CHAI is proud to partner through the NWBP as it brings investment to youth-driven, community-led projects that support the institutions of northwest Baltimore.
