Community Gathers to Commemorate Yom HaShoah
Members of Northwest Neighbors Connecting (NNC) planned and held a community event commemorating Yom HaShoah – Holocaust Remembrance Day. On Tuesday April 18, NNC welcomed over 35 guests to the Edward A. Myerberg Center to hear deeply touching first-hand accounts from three Holocaust survivors, after which the Iris Music Project performed meaningful musical selections including Lullaby from survivor Eddie Court as well as Daubner’s Serenade, the only known work from Daubner, who tragically died at age 24 at Auschwitz. Following the program, guests had the opportunity to thank the speakers personally for sharing their stories. CHAI would like to express its gratitude to the Baltimore Jewish Council for their partnership in securing the honored speakers.
