City Leaders Visit the Myerberg

In honor of Jewish American Heritage Month, Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott, City Council President Zeke Cohen, and Councilman Isaac “Yitzy” Schleifer paid a visit to the Myerberg Center, recognizing it as an important gathering place within Baltimore’s Jewish community. As they spent time touring the Center, they had the chance to hear directly from older adults whose lives are deeply rooted in the city. Many Myerberg members have longstanding ties to Baltimore. In fact, according to a 2020 Brandeis University study, nearly half of Jewish adults in the area were raised here. Members were excited to greet their elected officials in a setting defined by connection, belonging, and warmth. This special visit showcased the vibrant Myerberg community and offered a chance for members to be part of the conversations shaping Baltimore today.
