CHAI Welcomes in a Sweet New Year

For the past several months, CHAI’s Mobile Food Pantry has been delivering food and dry goods to older adults in our community. In the most recent deliveries, CHAI treated recipients to dried apples and honey in honor of Rosh Hashanah, along with a note wishing them a sweet new year.
The members of CHAI’s Warm Homes program meet virtually every week to catch up and connect with one another. Last week, Malka Zweig, who leads the group of over 65 women, ushered in Yom Kippur with the group by playing a powerful recording of the Kol Nidre prayer sung by Cantor Yitzchak Meir Helfgot. The women were deeply moved and expressed how grateful they are to have a place to connect, particularly at this time.
