CHAI Makes Dreams of Homeownership Reality
When Ms. T came to CHAI, she—like many people— never thought homeownership would be possible. After speaking with a realtor and mortgage lender, the process still felt unclear, and important details had been overlooked that could have affected her eligibility for a loan. CHAI’s housing counseling and loan program managers stepped in to walk through her options, connect her with professionals best suited to assist, and help her access nearly $40,000 in homebuying incentives, including direct assistance through CHAI’s Homebuyer Incentive Grant— a $5,000 forgivable loan for first-time homebuyers in northwest Baltimore. With coordinated counseling and financial support, CHAI helped Ms. T navigate the process with clarity and confidence.
