CHAI Hosts ULI Baltimore at Weinberg Place
In January, CHAI was proud to host the latest installment of ULI Baltimore’s Content Before Cocktails series. More than 50 professionals from the design, construction, and real estate industries joined us to explore the lessons learned from CHAI’s award-winning renovation of Weinberg Place. During the event, CHAI development staff joined project architect Scott Sider to highlight the complexities of renovating a 50-year-old occupied building. This affordable senior housing high-rise, located on the campus of Sinai Hospital, underwent significant renovation and modernization in 2023 and was fully re-leased by 2024. ULI members toured newly designed amenity spaces and a resident unit, some of which feature breathtaking views of the surrounding area, including the Pimlico Racetrack. We are incredibly proud of this transformative project and its role in providing exceptional housing for low-income older adults. CHAI is currently working on its next renovation project, making another important investment to preserve affordable senior housing in northwest Baltimore.
