CHAI Awards $50,000 to 10 First-Time Homebuyers in 21215

For many first-time homebuyers, the path to homeownership is often stalled by a few key barriers, including down payments, closing costs, and access to support at the right moment. CHAI’s Homebuyer Incentive Grant addresses these challenges by offering eligible buyers a $5,000 forgivable loan to help make homeownership more attainable. This year, the program reached an important milestone. All available funds were awarded, with 10 homebuyers each receiving $5,000, for a total of $50,000 invested in new homeowners in the 21215 area. These investments provide immediate support for families while strengthening long-term housing stability in northwest Baltimore. By helping more residents put down roots, this effort also contributes to stronger neighborhoods. With all available funding now fully distributed, CHAI is actively pursuing additional resources to build on this momentum and expand opportunities for future homebuyers. While the Homebuyer Incentive Grant is no longer available at this time, CHAI continues to offer a range of low-interest loans, including homebuyer assistance, energy savings, and home improvement financing, to support residents at every stage of homeownership.
