CHAI Awarded INSPIRE Funding to Support Homeownership in Northwest Baltimore
CHAI is proud to partner with Park Heights Renaissance to increase homeownership opportunities and bring value to the Park Heights community through housing development. Our acquisition and rehabilitation program focuses on the neighborhoods surrounding Pimlico Elementary/Middle School and Arlington Elementary School. CHAI is excited to announce that we have been awarded $400,000 in INSPIRE funding through the Baltimore City Department of Housing and Community Development and the Planning Department to support this work. Leveraging $260,000 in state funding, this funding will allow us to purchase and renovate eight vacant and blighted homes in Park Heights for sale to homeowners. In addition, CHAI received $50,000 to support our partnership with At The House on the development of a family support center to be built in Arlington. The center will further strengthen the community as part of the 21st Century Schools Initiative to invest in the school and surrounding neighborhood.
