A Major Milestone for the Preservation Project

This month, CHAI will be celebrating an exciting milestone in our Preservation Project with the completion of renovations at Weinberg House, a 116-unit affordable housing community for older adults in Pikesville. As the second of 15 properties to be transformed through this initiative, Weinberg House offers a glimpse of what’s ahead as CHAI invests in its affordable housing communities. Residents are returning to refreshed apartments with new appliances, improved accessibility, and other upgrades that enhance comfort, safety, and energy efficiency. They will gather in updated common spaces and enjoy the look and feel of their modernized community. The Preservation Project is a strategic effort to preserve 1,599 apartments in CHAI’s affordable senior housing portfolio. At a time when the supply of affordable housing is increasingly falling behind demand, this project will maintain high-quality affordable units, ensuring our communities continue to meet the needs of today’s residents as well as the next generation of older adults.
