A Community and a Second Home

October 19, 2026

For 50 years, the Myerberg Center has been redefining what a senior center can be. To our members, the Myerberg is many things. For some, “it’s a wonderful place to gather for camaraderie and seeing old friends, as well as making new friends!” For others, it’s “a friendly place where you feel young and learn new skills and information.” Many members regard the Myerberg as their home, while others describe it as “a place to learn and be with others” and “a place for creative activities and new friendships.” Whether they’re at the Center or joining a class online, Myerberg members remain connected, active, and inspired. Beth Goldsmith from The Associated captured similar sentiments in a recent Around the Table conversation with Myerberg members. This conversation (linked here) and the testimonies we hear from our members continue to highlight that the Myerberg is more than a place to participate in programs; it’s a community where friendships flourish, new interests are discovered, and people find a sense of belonging as they age. We hope you will join us in honoring everything the Myerberg means to its members and thanking Wendy Jachman and Jeff Scherr for their dedication to the Myerberg at our 50th Anniversary Celebration on October 22. The golden evening will feature music, delicious food, an open bar with a specialty cocktail, demonstrations of the magic of the Myerberg, and complimentary valet parking. Get your tickets today!
