CHAI’s Sherrell Savage Receives Community Honor
At its core, community organizing is about building relationships. When the Word of Life Church was relocating to the Glen neighborhood, the pastor, Dr. Jermaine Johnson, turned to CHAI’s Northwest Community and Schools Director, Sherrell Savage, a master relationship builder, to engage with community. Over the years, Sherrell has helped the pastor and his congregation deepen their involvement in the community. Pastor Johnson joined Northwest Baltimore Partnership’s One Park Heights Committee and his congregants have volunteered at CHAI’s food distributions and participated in CHAI’s Community Conversations program. On April 24, Pastor Johnson presented Sherrell with a well-deserved award for her dedication to creating engaged, connected community. CHAI is tremendously proud of Sherrell and wishes her continued success!
